Fannie Mae FOIA Requests

Fannie Mae requests are generally basic FOIA inquiries of the Agency's database system. The information provided by the Documents Management Section in response to a Fannie Mae request specifically pertains to one or more of the 11 databases listed below.

  1. (CERCLIS) Comprehensive Environmental Responsive Compensation and Liability Information System which depicts all of the activities occurring at Superfund sites;
  2. (ERNS) Emergency Response Notification System and/or Site Spill Identification Report which provides a list of oil spills and hazardous substances within Region 5 estates;
  3. (FINDS) Facility Index System Report which lists the facility name, address, and appropriate U.S. EPA program by database code. Explanations of codes are provided on the first page of each printout;
  4. (LIST 1) An abbreviated site location listing, providing location information by site;
  5. (LIST 3) An alias listing of names for abandoned and uncontrolled hazardous waste sites;
  6. (LIST 8) Reflects Site/Response Action Listing Report;
  7. (NPL) National Priorities List designates uncontrolled and/or abandoned sites which have scored 28.5 and above on the Hazardous Ranking System. Such scores indicate that more immediate clean-ups are required;
  8. (RCRA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act lists permitted hazardous waste generators, transporters, treatment, storage, and disposal facilities;
  9. (RCRIS) Resource Conservation and Recovery Information System provides the status of each RCRA site;
  10. (SETS) Superfund Enforcement Tracking System provides a listing of all potentially responsible parties at NPL/Removal sites;
  11. (TRIS) Toxic Release Inventory System - gives facility information and chemical reports that tabulate air emission, surface water discharges, releases to land, underground leaks.

The requestor may be contacted to clarify the request. In most instances, the requestor is asking for updated printouts of information dealing with specific environmental hazardous waste concerns. Such data can be retrieved based on local designations, and by specific State as well as Federal facilities within a specific zip code, city, county, and/or State.
