General FOIA Requests

The general FOIA requests may require moderate research. Usually, these requests have a minimal level of difficulty. The requestor may be contacted for clarity once the Specialist identifies the information requested (i.e., site name, site location, etc.) and checks the Superfund Division databases. Most general FOIA requests can usually be responded to with the following information:

  1. Volumetric Ranking;

  2. Preliminary Assessment/Site Inspection (PA/SI) Report;

  3. Record of Decision (ROD);

  4. Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS);

  5. Consent Decree;

  6. Administrative Record Index; and/or

  7. Administrative Order Documents.

In situations where the requestor is seeking information concerning a Potentially Responsible Party, the Specialist must contact an attorney from the Office of Regional Counsel prior to the release of information.
