Air Enforcement

CAED In the News and Other Actions

Pryme Energy LLC, Houston, Texas, Administrative Order Filed
On April 11, 2014, EPA Region 6 filed an Administrative Order on Consent to Pryme Energy for a violation of the General Duty Clause.  The violation regards a flash fire with serious injury that took place at the Rosewood Plantation 21H#1 Well, near Labeau, Louisiana on July 1, 2013. The fire occurred while pumping liquids via a hose into a non-grounded temporary fiberglass storage tank. As part of the settlement, the AOC requires Pryme Energy LLC to complete a third party safety audit of operations and to provide an updated Standard Operating Procedure for Hot Work Operations to EPA within one year of the settlement (April 11, 2015).

Office of Strategic Planning and Analyses manages cross-cutting programs, such as analyses to support compliance activities and enforcement, environmental assessments under the National Environmental Policy Act and more.

Air/Toxics Enforcement works with state, local and tribal governments, other federal agencies, businesses and community groups to implement and enforce the Clean Air Act regulations.

Hazardous Waste Enforcement provides guidance on all aspects of managing hazardous wastes and chemical substances; and offer compliance assistance to citizens, facilities, States, and Tribes.

Water Enforcement assures compliance and takes appropriate enforcement action against facilities for violations of the Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water acts, including concentrated animal feed lots and stormwater.
