An accident prevention
outreach conference held Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in Pasadena,
Texas, provided facilities with information regarding EPA’s
Accident Prevention Regulations and OSHA’s Process Safety
Management Regulations. Accident investigations have revealed
noncompliance issues that were highlighted during the conference.
Industry also participated by giving examples of exceeding requirements
while improving productivity and reducing lost time due to accidents
leading to injury and environmental impacts.
EPA, Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Texas A&M’s
Mary Kay O’Conner Safety Process Management Center hosted
this event.
