Region 6 has open house to discuss Imperial Refining Company

The Imperial Refining Company Superfund site is a 72-acre site on Highway 142 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, that has been on the EPA’s National Priorities List since 2000. The Ardmore community is having an open house July 17 at the Ardmore Public Library. On the site is an inactive and abandoned crude oil refining facility that operated from 1917 to 1934.

EPA, together with Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, will sign and issue an Explanation of Significant Differences for the Superfund site. A public meeting will provide citizens an opportunity to learn about the document details and ask questions.
