Arkansas Clean-Air Plan
Pursuant to a consent decree deadline, the EPA is taking final action to partially approve and partially disapprove portions of Arkansas’ Regional Haze clean-air plan. This final action allows flexibility for the State of Arkansas to correct several portions of their plan to meet the requirements of the Clean Air Act within a two-year deadline. Although this proposal focuses on improving visibility at our nation’s national parks and wilderness areas, we expect that controlling the same pollutants and sources of pollution that cause visibility degradation will also improve public health.
