Impaired Water Bodies in Texas

EPA Approves State of Texas' 2010 Clean Water Act §303(d) List

EPA has conducted a complete review of the State of Texas’ submission and found that it meets the requirements of Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act and EPA's implementing regulations. The listing of water bodies which fail to meet water quality standards is required by section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act. Water bodies included on this list receive additional attention and resources to reduce pollution, protect public health, and provide for healthy aquatic life.

Texas’ Section 303(d) list submission includes 438 water body segments including 718 assessment units. The state listings are based on assessment methodologies and data and information described in the state submittal.
