Mobile Source Program

Did you know that your vehicle - or what EPA labels a "mobile source" - causes air pollution? Emissions from your individual car are generally low when compared to pollution from a smokestack. But millions of vehicles on the road can add up to unhealthy air. Congress established motor vehicle emission standards for cars and trucks to reduce this pollution and protect public health. Under the Clean Air Act, the EPA developed regulations to reduce air pollution from automobiles. Many states also have mobile source regulations and it is recommended that you check with them.
