Resource Guide: Resolving Environmental Conflictsin Communities (May 2000) [PDF]
This is a 6 page flyer designed to introduce the newcomer to ADR activities in the stakeholder involvement context. It contains a couple pages of contact names and numbers in addition to light text and engaging graphics.
Community-BasedEnvironmental Protection: A Resource Book for Protecting Ecosystems andCommunities [PDF]
This resource book is a citizen's handbook for initiating community-based environmental protection projects. It includes descriptions of local, state, tribal, and federal tools for protecting local ecosystems, economic sustainability, and quality of life. The resource book includes over 30 descriptive stories of communities in action.
EPA's "Framework forCommunity-Based Environmental Protection" 
The purpose of the document is to provide EPA with a policy and planning framework for supporting and implementing community-based environmental protection (CBEP) over the next three years. The Framework identifies specific goals, strategies, activities, and measures of success for EPA in implementing community-based environmental protection.
A Citizen'sGuide to Achieving a Healthy Community, Economy & Environment
The Citizen's Guide outlines the basic principles of community development, economic development and environmental protection. It is intended to serve as a starting point for understanding the "three legs of the stool" that supports a healthy society. The guide provides ideas for taking introductory actions and addresses in detail the characteristics of compatible economic development.
A Guidebook of Financial Tools: Paying for Sustainable Environmental Systems
This US EPA site evaluates financing tools which States and communities may use to help meet the costs of community-based environmental protection. Nineteen ways of raising revenues and lowering costs are discussed. These financing tools range from traditional State and federal assistance programs to proven mechanisms long used to pay for other types of programs and activities to innovative new public-private partnership approaches.

EPA Grant Writing Tutorial
EPA recently released an interactive software tool that walks users through the grant writing process and helps them to write more competitive grants.
The program includes:
- detailed information and tips on writing a grant proposal;
- information on how to complete a grant application package;
- program-specific sections on three EPA grant programs, including environmental education;
- examples of good, complete grant packages;
- mock grant writing activity - users can compare their work to a successful grant application;
- resources & contacts.
