EPA Region 8
2007 Climate Change Art Challenge

For Earth Day 2007, Region 8 will host "The Climate Change Art Challenge" for Region 8 Schools. The contest will ask students to draw "What is Climate Change?" with no teaching premise from adults or school staff.

The purpose of the contest is to see what school children think Climate Change is based on what they already know from school, media and their parents. The drawings will be very educational for EPA, teachers and parents as they will show us what our children are learning about Climate Change from the media, us and in schools.

Once the drawings are complete, teachers can utilize the EPA's Climate Change for Kids website at: http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/kids or order the EPA's Climate Change Toolkit (while supplies last) to educate children in their classroom about Climate Change.

The winners will be chosen based on the most creative and representative drawings of Climate Change and the drawings will be featured on the R8 website and in the new R8 EPA office building. A certificate will be awarded to the winning students and schools.
