South Platte River and Weir Gulch

Confluence of Weir Gulch and South Platte River

EPA is working with the City of Denver and the Greenway Foundation to improve degraded sections of Weir Gulch and the South Platte River. Planned activities include restoring the gulch and its confluence with the South Platte by improving the sinuosity of the streambed, reducing erosion and stormwater runoff, restoring wetlands and vegetation, and creating features that filter pollution and capture sediment. These improvements will restore the area to a more natural state, improve water quality, and provide families in Sun Valley with access to a revitalized river. Read press release »
