Pesticide Residue Check Sample Pilot
The program is designed to assist laboratories identify operational areas in need of improvement. The program is being administered by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Laboratory Services.
The program includes the analysis of pesticide samples representative of field samples obtained during mis-use investigations. Two sample sets of five samples will be sent to participating labs each year. The first set was issued in January 2008, and was composed of five soil samples. The second set will be sent in October 2008.The activities related to the first set of samples created in January 2008 constitute a pilot program that has financial support from EPA. In order to have a sustainable program that covers costs, an annual subscription fee of $1,100 will be charged to participants.
To date, 34 of 47 state laboratories are participating in the program.
