Mission

To provide leadership in protecting public health and the environment within Indian country; respecting the sovereignty of each tribe; and recognizing our Federal trust responsibilities.

Clean Air, Clean Water, GAP and FIFRA funding notices

EPA is are excited to announce the FY 2011 Funding opportunity notices for the following programs: Clean Air Act (103/105), Clean Water Act (106), General Assistance Program (GAP) and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) grant programs.

We invite you to submit a proposal containing a workplan, detailed budget breakdown, and an introduction and background statement by e-mail to your respective Tribal Program Manager by March 8, 2010.

Grant awards may be reduced for late submissions or incomplete responses to the criteria and requirements set forth in the cover letter and the associated enclosures below. Please make sure your submitted proposals are clear and provide enough detail as they will be peer reviewed prior to the funding decision meetings.

Please review the Funding Opportunities Notices and the Timeline (Enclosure 8) closely as some of the information and the dates have changed from last year. Also please use the attached budget form (Enclosure 9) when submitting your proposal and be advised that the travel detail is on the second page of the excel document.

Tribal Drinking Water Infrastructure Projects funding notice

EPA Region 8 is pleased to announce that for FY 2010 approximately $2.6 million dollars is available to fund Tribal drinking water infrastructure projects. In January 2010, through the DWIG TSA Program, a solicitation letter will be sent to all Tribes in Region 8 announcing this funding opportunity and describing the project selection process. During the selection process, priority is given to projects that address the most serious risks to human health, are necessary to ensure compliance with SDWA requirements, and assist systems that demonstrate the greatest need on a per household basis.

Project proposals must be postmarked by March 15, 2010 to be considered for funding; Proposals received after March 15, 2010 will not be eligible for funding. Project selection is anticipated to occur in the spring/summer of 2010.
