National Information

Sustainable stormwater systems are those designed to mimic the natural water cycle. Sustainable stormwater systems utilize practices such as infiltration, evapotranspiration, biological treatment, directing runoff, minimization of impervious surfaces, and conservation of natural vegetation.

Urban Drainage and Flood Control Distict Criteria Manual - Volume 1 and 2 provide guidance for planning and design of drainageway channels and hydraulic structures. Volume 3 provides guidance for the selection and design of stormwater quality best management practices and provides guidance on how to meet post-construction runoff requirements for all cities within the District's boundaries.
