Final Redesignation as Nonattainment for the PM-10 NAAQS
On May 23, 2012, EPA redesignated an area in western Pinal County, Arizona to nonattainment for the 1987 24-hour National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for particulate matter (PM-10). Today’s final action will become effective 30 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.

Particulate Matter in Pinal County, Arizona
EPA has proposed to redesignate the western portion of Pinal County, Arizona nonattainment for the 1987 24-hour National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for particulate matter (PM-10) based on ambient monitoring data that indicate widespread and frequent violations of the standard. EPA is accepting comments on the proposal until November 1, 2010.
