Distribution of Administrator-Signed Rules: By EPA Program Offices & Regions
Statistics on Administrator-Signed rules by EPA program office, Region, and year
For the period 2005-2010, nearly three-fourths of all Administrator-Signed rules were issued by the Office of Air and Radiation (OAR). The Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) and the Office of Water (OW) each individually accounted for approximately nine and seven percent of the Administrator-Signed rules, respectively. The remaining program offices and Regions together accounted for the remaining 10 percent. (The remaining offices are the Office of Environmental Information (OEI); Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP); Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA); Office of Research and Development (ORD); Office of the Administrator (OA); Office of Policy (OP); and EPA Regions. EPA Regions do not account for many of the Administrator-Signed rules, so for purposes of this analysis they are treated as one office.)
