Climate Adaptation and Mitigation

EPA is integrating climate adaptation into its programs, policies, rules and operations to help the nation, states and communities become resilient to climate change. For example, communities will need to prepare for extreme weather events, increased air pollution, flooding that can affect water treatment systems, and other environmental problems.

Research is supporting efforts to promote sustainable solutions to climate change by providing the scientific information, models, methods, and analytical tools that can be used to develop plans and strategies to adapt to changes to our climate and reduce the impact.
