Your application will be read and reviewed by human resources specialists to determine if you have the experience and/or education to qualify for the position for which you are submitting an application package. If you are determined qualified for the position, your application will be rated based on your response to the questions addressed in the vacancy announcement, and the supervisor will review your application in the selection process.
Your entire application package is used to determine if you meet the qualifications for the position. This includes both paid and non-paid experience.
Describe your current or most recent job first. Work backwards describing each job you held during the past ten years. You may summarize in one section work performed more than ten years ago. However, if that work is related to the position for which you are applying, describe each job separately.
If you had a major change in duties or responsibilities with the same employer, describe each major change as a separate job. Include any official details or temporary promotions as separate entries.
Include volunteer (non-paid) activities as work experience and provide all the relevant information you would include for a paying position.
Use official titles for the positions held. If your position also had an organizational title, include that information in the description of work. For example, your official title is a Chemist and your organizational title is Quality Assurance Manager for the laboratory. You could begin your description of experience by stating: "As Quality Assurance Manager for the ABC Laboratory, I...."
