You Can Help Reduce Our Footprint by:
Energy Use:
- Use fume hood "unoccupied mode" set backs
- Turn off task and conference room lights when they aren't in use
- Turn off computer and peripherals over night and during weekends
- Increase double sided printing/copying
- Use email as much as possible for incidental posting
- Help identify substitute for products (e.g., detergents, bleaches, lab processes) that have even trace amounts of mercury
- Increase car and van pools
- Reduce unneeded travel
- Use the telephone more
- Use Flexiplace/compressed schedules
- Keep your tires properly inflated
- Think product environmental "Life Cycle"
- Pick the "greenest" product
- Purchase duplex printers
- Purchase Energy Star compliant products
- Purchase recycled products
