This "main street" was designed to promote interaction among staff, while minimizing construction and energy costs. Reducing the need for exterior surface material helped cut construction costs, while the use of daylight provides lifetime energy savings and creates a pleasant and productive setting for employees. The atrium contains dozens of alcoves and seating areas for informal gatherings, giving staff more options for meeting space or even just a quite place to read.
