Conference Facilities
A green building with wasted space is not truly sustainable. With the creation of this campus, conference space was cut in half - compared to previous facilities. A few smaller conference rooms are owned by individual programs for daily impromptu use, most conference rooms are shared resources. Rather than calling around to find a room, as was the practice, EPA personnel simply check availability and book a conference room from their desktop computer. This resource-sharing measure eliminated at least 15,000 square feet of building space, saving construction cost and lifetime energy use. At the same time, the network-based computer booking system made meeting coordination easier and has dramatically improved staff productivity. |
