Executive Orders
Authority for the MAI Program is derived from various statutes, regulations and Executive Orders which include:

- Executive Order 13592 (December 2, 2011), Improving American Indian and Alaska Native Educational Opportunities and Strengthening Tribal Colleges and Universities (PDF) (5 pp, 153K)
At least two of these Executive Order require the Agency to submit annual reports which track the amount of assistance EPA gives to the designated class of institutions.
