EPA Launches Stormwater Management Contest
The EPA invites student teams across the country to participate in it's design challenge, Campus Rainworks Challenge
Despite all the wonderful benefits of a large rainstorm, stormwater runoff is responsible for a large portion of water pollution in the United States. EPA has invited teams of students from colleges and universities in the United States to put their green design skills to the test by designing infrastructure for their campus that would manage stormwater runoff in a non-polluting manner. Winning teams will receive a cash prize as well as additional funds for their faculty advisor to conduct research on green infrastructure. The contest promotes green infrastructure design as a way to manage stormwater runoff on campuses across the country.
