Personal Biography of Werner Kloas, Ph.D.
Dr. Kloas is a Professor in the Department of Inland Fisheries, Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, Germany, and a Distinguished Professor for Endocrinology at Humboldt University of Berlin. His research interests are in hormonal regulation of stress, reproductive biology, and endocrine disruption by environmental compounds in amphibians and fishes. His teaching focuses on comparative endocrinology and animal physiology. Dr. Kloas received the 1991 Schoeller-Junkmann-Prize for Endocrinology from the German Society for Endocrinology and is on the editorial board of several scientific journals including General Comparative Endocrinology, Environmental Research and the Journal of Applied Ichthyology.
