Personal Biography of Cheryl Montgomery, Ph.D.
Dr. Cheryl Montgomery is the WBE and SOMBWA Certified Business Principal and Owner of Montgomery & Associates, Inc. Since 1995, she had provided strategic planning, oversight management, coordination, and scientific technical support for projects in the area of hazardous waste site risk assessments (human and ecological), asbestos abatement and the assessment of asbestos debris in soil. Dr. Montgomery is a certified Asbestos Project Monitor and Asbestos Project Designer and a certified/licensed Asbestos Inspector (MA AI 061736). As an expert witness in litigation, she has provided risk assessment technical support, been deposed, and served as an expert witness in Federal Court (Third Circuit) at trial.
In previous work, Dr. Montgomery specialized in technical studies related to fate and transport of organic chemicals, provided technical support to legal cases and participated in Phase 1 of the environmentally acceptable endpoints project with GRI/PERF. She has managed the business areas of pesticide product registration and environmental fate/assessment testing to aid in the determination of physicochemical properties and degradation pathways in soil, sediment, and aquatic metabolism testing. Between 1988 and 1991, Dr. Montgomery was a technical project manager for Syngenta Crop Protection (formerly Zeneca Agrochemicals, and ICI Canada) and was responsible for product regulatory development for proprietary pesticides in the herbicide, insecticide, plant growth regulator, and fungicide classes of agrochemicals. This position included the planning of regulatory strategy, generation and review of data for both domestic and international regulatory use in the categories of degradation under laboratory and field conditions, process chemistry and contaminant review for regulatory significance, non-target organism impact, wetlands impact, crop/soil residues, worker exposure studies, and GLP/QA.
