SFIP Documents Available

Federal Register Notice (July 2001)
The EPA is announcing the Internet availability of data on a subset of Federal Facilities in the Sector Facility Indexing Project (SFIP).  The Federal Register notice is available from this web site: Federal Register July 10, 2001.

Federal Register Notice (May 2000)
The EPA is announcing the Internet availability of an evaluation report on the Sector Facility Indexing Project (SFIP).  Based on the evaluation results, the EPA is also announcing the future expansion of the SFIP to include a subset of federal facilities.  The Federal Register notice is available from this web site: Federal Register May 31, 2000.

Federal Register Notice (September 1998)
The EPA is announcing the availability of a hard copy summary report on the Sector Facility Indexing Project (SFIP).  The summary report is a publication that provides aggregated, pre-formatted information.  On May 1, 1998, the EPA released the Internet website containing SFIP data.  The Federal Register notice is available from this web site: Federal Register September 1, 1998.

Federal Register Notice (July 1998)
The EPA plans to include current environmental information in SFIP as it becomes available. Chemical release and transfer data for calendar year 1996 are now available from the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). Federal Register Notice (May 1998)
EPA announces the Internet release of data in SFIP. SFIP is a community right-to-know and data integration pilot project that provides environmental performance data for facilities within five industrial sectors. Comment and Data Review Process
EPA describes the extensive comment and data review process used to ensure accurate SFIP data.  EPA also presents detailed findings of the commenting and review process.  The full report is available from this website: Comment and Data Review Process.

Public Meeting on SFIP (May 14, 1997).
EPA held a public meeting to take public comments on the project. Written comments were accepted up until June 13. Additional information regarding the public meeting is available from this web site: Notice of Public Meeting on the Sector Facility Indexing Project.

Summary of Written Comments (October 20, 1997).
After the May 14 Public Meeting, a 30-day written comment period commenced. This period ended on June 13, 1997.
