Congratuations to Sueda, a sixth-grader from New Mexico, who is this year's SunWise with SHADE national poster contest winner! Sueda's poster features SunWise cacti who have some great tips for staying safe in the sun.
In the 2012 contest, we received 12,000 posters from 48 states, DC and the Northern Mariana Islands. More than 112,000 students have participated in the contest since it began ten years ago. These original, creative posters have suggested ways to prevent skin cancer and raise sun safety awareness. Examples of tips presented on the posters include:
