The asbestos committee also provides site consultation in support of regional requests and identifies research needs relevant to asbestos site assessment activities.

Regional and State Contacts This webpage contains contact information for the Regional Asbestos Coordinators and the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Asbestos Coordinators that oversee asbestos efforts within each EPA Region.

Frequently Asked Questions About Asbestos Investigation, Risk, Removal, and Remediation This webpage is part of EPA's Asbestos Compendium of Technical Resources. Questions and answers are organized into three major categories: sampling and analytical, risk, and removal and remedial issues.

Current Best Practices for Vermiculite Attic Insulation - Joint EPA/ATSDR brochure (May 2003) (PDF) (3pp/598KB) This is a general information brochure for the public on how to recognize vermiculite insulation in the home, what to do if it is in found, and where to get information on testing and removal of asbestos.
