Raking Demonstration Video
This video, which contains no audio, provides a visual demonstration of an activity-based sampling (ABS) scenario to test for asbestos in the soil. Aggresive soil disturbance, such as raking, is expected to provide airborne concentrations at the high end of what would normally occur.
Personal protective equipment should be worn at all times when conducting ABS for asbestos. For further information, please review Step 4 – Preliminary (screening level) environmental sampling of the Framework for Investigating Asbestos-Contaminated Superfund Sites (PDF) (71 pp, 849K) OSWER Directive 9200.0-68, September 2008.
