Photos - Oil Vacuum Equipment

Picture of Oil Vacuum Equipment

In this photo, an oil spill training instructor demonstrates how oil vacuum equipment works using a test tank. In an actual spill, mechanical containment or recovery is the first step in the clean-up response. Equipment such as booms and barriers are used to corral the spilled oil, which is then collected via skimmers or vacuum truck. Finally, the oil is separated from the water and then either recovered for reuse or disposed of properly.
