Probable Point of Entry for Wetlands and Intermittent Streams

A wetland contiguous to river, lake, or coastal tidal water is considered to be surface water. PPE1 is where the overland segment meets the wetland.

Intermittenly flowing streams and ditches are considered surface water only in arid areas with less than 20 inches mean annual precipitation. PPE1 is the PPE in such area. PPE2 is the PPE in areas with 20 inches or more mean annual precipitation.
