Brownfields Grants
Program
|
The Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization
Act (the Brownfields Law) provides that eligible entities may apply
for grants through EPA Regional offices and that EPA establish a
competitive system for awarding grants to the applicants with proposals
that received the highest rankings. Under the Brownfields Law, eligible
entities may be able to receive Brownfields funding for some properties
subject to RCRA. EPA brownfields grants will be selected on a competitive
basis using a two-step proposal selection process. Assessment grants
provide funding for a grant recipient to inventory, characterize,
assess, and conduct planning and community involvement related to
brownfield sites. Revolving Loan Fund grants provide funding for
a grant recipient to capitalize a revolving loan fund and to provide
subgrants to carry out cleanup activities at brownfields sites.
Cleanup grants provide funding for a grant recipient to carry out
cleanup activities at brownfield sites. Proposal Guidelines: The Proposal guidelines provide needed information on how to apply for a grant, what type of entity can apply for grants, what type of grants are available, what type of RCRA sites can be addressed by the Grants program, and criteria for proposals.
