The Wildlife Habitat Council is a nonprofit, non-lobbying group
of corporations, conservation organizations, and individuals dedicated
to protecting and enhancing wildlife habitat. Close to 120 companies
are currently Wildlife Habitat Council members. Redevelopment
projects are largely corporate-driven cooperative efforts among
management, employees, community members, local conservation groups,
and local, state, and federal governments.

Founded in 1972, the Trust for Public Land is a national nonprofit
working to protect land for human enjoyment and well-being. TPL
helps conserve land for recreation and spiritual nourishment and
to improve the health and quality of life of American communities.
- The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy's mission is "To preserve the plants,
animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of
life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to
survive." Since 1951, the Nature Conservancy has worked with
individuals and businesses to protect more than 92 million acres
of land around the world.

As part of the Department of Interior, the US Fish and Wildlife
Service is one of eight bureaus fulfilling the department's role
as the nation's principal conservation agency. Specifically, the
US Fish and Wildlife Service is supposed "to conserve, protect
and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for
the continuing benefit of the American people."
