Coordinated through EPA's Technology Innovation Office, the Brownfields Technology
Support Center helps decision makers be aware of the full range of technologies available in order to make informed or "smart" technology decisions for their sites. The center provides a readily accessible resource for unbiased assessments and supporting information on options relevant to specific sites. The center also provides a technology-oriented review process for investigation and cleanup plans for these sites. The Center has created a number of general publications and resources for all audiences. These can be ordered or downloaded at the Internet site. Site-specific reviews and advice are available to government staff in local, state, and EPA Regional organizations. The center will work through EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD) National Risk Management Research Laboratories (NRMRL) in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ada, Oklahoma and the National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) in Las Vegas, Nevada to provide the expertise and information necessary to help brownfields decision makers determine whether innovative options are available and feasible for their sites. The center also provides information about other available support activities, such as those conducted by the Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) Program located at the five regional Hazardous Substance Research Centers.
