- MTBE Treatment Profiles

A project sponsored jointly by EPA's Technology Innovation Office and the Office of Underground Storage Tanks. This searchable web site contains data on almost 250 completed and ongoing applications of MTBE treatment for drinking water and contaminated media. The treatment profiles describe sites at which technologies (both in situ and ex situ/above-ground) have been used to treat MTBE in groundwater, soil, and drinking water. Technologies include air stripping and sparging, carbon adsorption, bioremediation (in situ and ex situ), in situ chemical oxidation, soil vapor and dual phase extraction, and pump-and-treat. More detailed reports are available for some of the sites.
