UST/LUST Program Status In Tennessee

Tennessee was granted state program approval (SPA) in 1998. Six of the eight states in Region 4 have approved programs.

Number of confirmed releases 13,390 (national total: 474,127)
Number of cleanups completed 12,854 (national total: 365,361)
Number of cleanups in backlog to be completed 536 (national total: 108,766)

Percent of facilities in significant operational compliance with:
Release prevention requirements 90%
Release detection requirements 91%
Both prevention and release detection requirements 85%
