Utah was granted state program approval (SPA) in 1995. Five of the six states in Region 8 have approved programs.

Number of cleanups completed	3,963 (national total: 377,019)
Number of cleanups in backlog to be completed	432 (national total: 102,798)

Percent of facilities in significant operational compliance with:

	Release prevention requirements	74%
	Release detection requirements	73%
	Both prevention and release detection requirements	59%
