TRI-MEdesktop/cd Software Warning
TRI-MEdesktop/cd will no longer be available to submit current reporting year TRI chemical forms to EPA.
TRI-MEdesktop/cd can only be used to make revisions or withdraw TRI forms that were submitted prior to RY 2005. EPA would prefer TRI facilities that want to report a revision or need to withdraw a form that was submitted between RY 2005 and RY 2010 to use TRI-MEweb.
EPA considers TRI-MEweb to be the TRI reporting software of the future. EPA is discontinuing the TRI-MEdesktop/cd software application as of January 1, 2010.
What is TRI-MEdesktop/cd?
TRI-MEdesktop/cd is a predecessor of TRI-MEweb that requires the download of an application to a computer. The desktop version of the TRI-ME software is an interactive, user friendly software tool that guides facilities through the TRI reporting procedures.

What is the TRI-MEdesktop/cd tutorial?
Please download the TRI-MEdesktop/cd tutorial presentation (PDF). (25 pp, 548KB, About PDF) to learn how to use TRI-ME desktop/cd.
Please note that this tutorial uses screen shots from the RY 2005 version of TRI-MEdesktop/cd.
Can I Use the desktop version of TRI-ME software?
Yes, but not for new or revised reports prior for Reporting Year (RY) 2005. TRI-MEdesktop/cd produce output files that match USEPA's Magnetic Media File Formats (sometimes called the TRI 18 flat files). These file formats can be found below. You may load flat files using the third party load tool created based on these formats directly into the TRI-MEdesktop/cd software and then use the application to check your forms for common errors. You can only use TRI-MEdesktop/cd to submit the forms to USEPA and your state for chemical release data between RY 2000 and RY 2005. We recommend that if you need to submit any forms after RY 2005, to use TRI-MEweb instead.
