Slide 1 - Title Screen
Welcome to the TRI-MEweb Accessing Facility Data tutorial. This tutorial will illustrate how a user can gain access to their facility in the TRI-MEweb application. The total running time of this tutorial is approximately 7 minutes.

Slide 2
TRI-MEweb requires users to enter an EPA-assigned Access Key prior to gaining access to a TRI facility's data or transmitting reports for that facility. As a result, the first time that users enter TRI-MEweb, they will be informed that they currently do not have access to any facilities. To gain access to a facility click the "Access/Add Facility" button.

Slide 3
The Access Key for a facility will be emailed to the facility's technical contact as reported on last year's TRI forms. Users can also obtain the TRI facility's Access Key from another individual who has already gained access to this facility in TRI-MEweb. Click the "I have an Access Key" radio button, enter the facility Access Key, and then click "Next".

If TRI-MEweb recognizes the Access Key entered by the user, TRI-MEweb will display the TRIFID, the facility name, and the facility address associated with the Access Key. Users are asked to verify whether this is the correct facility for which they would like access by clicking one of the two radio buttons. If this is the correct facility, users can click the "Yes, this is the correct facility" radio button and then click "Next".

Slide 11
If users do not have an Access Key, or cannot obtain it from another representative from their facility, they may attempt to gain access by entering their facility's TRIFID and the name and phone number of any technical contact provided on a prior year's TRI form dating back to Reporting Year 2005.

If there are existing TRI facilities within the facility's ZIP Code, those facilities will be listed on the bottom of the page. Users should be sure that their facility has not already been provided with a TRIFID. If users notice that their facility is in the list, they should select it before clicking "Next". If their facility is not listed - or if no facilities are listed - the user should click "Next" to confirm the TRIFID request.

After confirming a TRIFID request, TRI-MEweb will add the user's facility, create an Access Key that can be shared with other representatives of the facility, and assign the facility's TRIFID. Please note that the facility's certifying official will need to enter this TRIFID on their Electronic Signature Agreement - and have that signature agreement approved - before they can certify any TRI submissions for this TRIFID from TRI-MEweb. For more information about registering as a certifying official and completing an Electronic Signature Agreement, review the Registration tutorial.

Slide 38
After gaining access to a facility, TRI-MEweb returns to the user's list of facilities. A user has the ability to view all other TRI-MEweb users that have access to the same facility. To review the list of users for a facility, select the "view/update users" link to the right of the facility.

On this screen the user is presented with a list of all users that have access to the facility in TRI-MEweb. Users that would like to gain access to the TRI facility should contact one of these authorized users and have them send the TRI facility Access Key. Once a user is granted access, they can prepare TRI reports for the facility.
