Welcome to the TRI-MEweb Getting Help tutorial. This tutorial will provide information on the various resources available to help TRI-MEweb users prepare, transmit, and certify TRI reports. The total running time of this tutorial is approximately 8 minutes.

The TRI-MEweb "Welcome" tab provides a variety of helpful resources. One that is useful to first-time users is the TRI-MEweb Introduction item.

This section presents users with TRI-MEweb introductory information and important reminders. Users can read more TRI-MEweb introduction information by clicking on the "Learn More" button.

Throughout the introduction screens, users are presented with basic information regarding navigating through TRI-MEweb, selecting facilities for reporting, preparing data, validating data, and transmitting TRI reports. Users navigate through these screens by using the "Next" and "Back" navigation buttons at the bottom left of the screen. Users may also read about important information for the reporting year, future enhancements to TRI-MEweb, and information regarding determining whether they need to report for TRI.

This "Do I Need to Report?" screen provides information regarding TRI thresholds and the TRI Threshold Determination Tool. Users can receive assistance with threshold determinations by clicking on the TRI threshold determination tool link.

As users navigate through TRI-MEweb, they will see two headlines to the right side of the screen in the TRI-MEweb Help Area. One is labeled "Regulatory Information" and the other is labeled "TRI-MEweb User Guide." Users have the ability to hide the TRI-MEweb Help Area by clicking gray tab.

The welcome page of the User Guide provides information on the CDX Help Desk and the TRI Information Center hotlines. The CDX Help Desk is available by phone or email to assist users with any software problems with TRI-MEweb. The CDX Help Desk does not address TRI regulatory questions. The TRI Information Center is available by phone to assist users with TRI regulatory questions and with questions related to completing the TRI reports. The TRI Information Center does not address TRI-MEweb software questions.

The TRI-MEweb User Guide provides users assistance with using TRI-MEweb, including navigating through TRI-MEweb, adding and editing facilities, preparing TRI reports, Section 8 calculation features, and using the TRI Assistance Library. Users can select to learn about different TRI-MEweb features by clicking on items listed in the Contents on the left hand side of the screen.

Once a user has selected a topic, text appears on the right hand side of the screen. Users can then navigate through the entire topic by using the arrows in the top right hand corner of the screen. Users also have the ability to perform searches on various topics in the TRI-MEweb User Guide. Searches may be performed by clicking on the "Index" link or the "Search" link. After performing a search, users can select the "Contents" link to change the left hand display back to the standard topics view.

Under the "TRI-MEweb User Guide" headline are links to specific User Guide topics. These links change from page to page to provide users specific assistance with the page that they are using. By clicking on the link, the user is taken to the specific topic listed in the TRI-MEweb User Guide.

The user is presented with the page specific User Guide topic. After reading through the topic, the user may either exit out of the User Guide or select the "Show User Guide" link in the top right hand corner to use the User Guide table of contents, index, or search features.

Clicking on the "Access the TRI Assistance Library" link opens the TRI Assistance Library.

The TRI Assistance Library provides users with the TRI Reporting Forms and Instructions, guidance documents, regulations and statutes, and other useful information that will assist with completing the TRI reports. Topics in the TRI Assistance Library will not provide users with assistance or guidance on using the TRI-MEweb software. Users can select from the various TRI Assistance Library topics by clicking on items listed in the contents on the left hand side of the screen.

The TRI Program Home page allows users to browse TRI topics, get TRI data, access TRI reporting materials and software, access and download guidance documents, view regulations, and learn about State and International TRI programs.

After clicking the "TRI Frequent Questions" link, users are taken to the listing of posted TRI frequent questions. Users have the ability to navigate through questions posted by other users. By clicking on the question, users are able to see the EPA answer. Users also are able to post questions to EPA by clicking on the "Ask a Question" link.
