Welcome to the TRI-MEweb tutorial for Importing Prior Year Data. This tutorial will illustrate how to import prior year data to current reporting year forms within the TRI-MEweb application. The total running time of this tutorial is approximately 6 minutes.

Slide 2
Importing Prior Year Data is new functionality introduced in TRI-MEweb for RY 2011 that provides the ability to import data provided for the reporting year immediately prior into forms for the current reporting year. This functionality can be used to import Form A, Form R, and Schedule 1 data into current year forms. This functionality can also be used for facilities identified as multi-establishments for the current or prior reporting year. Prior year data can be imported into current reporting year forms using one of two methods: Using the "Select a Form" page or using the "Welcome" page.

Slide 3
Import data functionality expedites the time spent on creating blank chemical forms in the current reporting year. When importing the data to current reporting year, this functionality captures any revisions that are made to chemical forms in the prior reporting year.

Slide 4
Note that there are some exceptions to the data that will be imported from the prior reporting year. Chemical forms containing a mixture component identity will not be imported into current reporting year forms. "Not Applicable" checkboxes will not be checked for any section of the form. This is to encourage users to enter data for newly imported forms. Section 8.8 of the Form R and the Schedule 1 will not be imported. Data pertaining to numeric basis estimates, catastrophic quantities or rounding values will not be imported into current year forms.
