Consultation and Coordination on the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Strategy Development

The Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force is conducting consultation and coordination with federally recognized Indian tribes to seek input to the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Strategy being developed by a State and Federal Task Force created by President Obama. The Strategy is being developed to help address the many challenges in the Gulf, due to a wide variety of stressors, most recently the BP Oil Spill. The Strategy will inform Gulf-wide ecosystem restoration to address this longstanding ecological decline to begin moving toward a more resilient Gulf Coast ecosystem.
The consultation and coordination process is being conducted in accordance with the EPA Policy on Consultation and Coordination with Indian Tribes (PDF) (10 pp, 213K, About PDF). The Task Force invites you and your designated consultation representative(s) to participate in this process.
Please provide your input to the Gulf Task Force Preliminary Strategy (PDF) (112 pp, 3Mb) by October 26, 2011.
