Compliance and Technical Assistance Training

EPA's National Enforcement Training Institute (NETI) trains federal, state, tribal, and local lawyers, inspectors, civil and criminal investigators, and technical experts in the enforcement of the Nation's environmental laws. NETI provides a comprehensive and integrated approach to training in which enforcement and compliance personnel are trained in a range of specialties in order to work together more effectively as a team. Emergency Management Framework for Tribal Governments courses offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to tribal members who have emergency management responsibilities. The Tribal Information page of the FEMA Web site provides more information.

EPA's Working Effectively with Tribal Governments Training is designed to increase EPA staff understanding of tribal legal and cultural issues, acquaint EPA staff with the EPA Indian policy and its place in the management of environmental programs, and provide suggestions and practical tips for EPA staff members who work with tribes. Compliance Assistance Centers

Each Compliance Assistance Center addresses real world issues faced by a specific industry or government sector. The Centers deliver information in many forms: Web sites, telephone assistance lines, fax-back systems, and e-mail discussion groups. The Centers help tribes understand an array of environmental requirements, and offers information on how to save money by preventing pollution in the first place.
