Theformatofthedatabaseisaseriesoftables.Therearetwotypesoftables:datatablesandlookuptables.Thelattercontaindescriptionsofcodesusedinthefieldsinthedatatables.Eachdatatablecontainsinformationonaspecificaspectofacombustionunit;forexample,thetable DATA:GeneralFacilityTurbinecontainsgeneralinformationonthefacilityatwhichtheturbineislocated.Alistingofthetablescontainedinversion4isinAppendixA.  TherecordsinthedatatablescanbelinkedfromtabletotableusingtheICCRFacilityID,CombustorID,andSegmentNumberfields.TheICCRFacilityIDidentifiesthefacilityatwhichtheunitisoperating.TheCombustorIDisauniqueidentifierforeachunitatagivenfacility.ThepurposeoftheSegmentNumberistoprovideameanstostoreinformationonoperationalcapabilitiesofagivenunit.Unitsaretypicallyassignedsegmentnumberstoindicatethecapacityoftheunittofiremorethanonefueltype.Tablesinthedatabasecanbelinkedusingthesefields. c-(-   Version4ofthedatabasecontainsinformationonapproximately4,800units.ItisestimatedthatthecurrentturbinepopulationintheUnitedStatesisapproximately8,000turbines.Therefore,theinventorydatabasecontainsdataonapproximately60%oftheinstalledturbinesintheUnitedStates.Itisexpectedthatthedatabasehasbettercoverageoflargerturbines.  Withinthedatabase,varyingdegreesofinformationareavailablefordifferentturbineparameters.Forexample,thereisinformationonthefueltypeforvirtuallyallturbinesintheinventorydatabase.However,therearelimitedmakeandmodeldatagivenforindividualunits;only13%oftheunitsarepopulatedwithbothmakeandmodelinformationwhile5%arepopulatedwithinformationonturbinemakeonly.Thereisalsolimitedinformationonthecapacityoftheunitsinthedatabase;sizeinformationisprovidedforapproximately57%oftheturbinesinthedatabase.RefinementstotheDatabase     Databaseenhancementactivitieswereundertakeninordertomaximizetheamountofusefulinformationthatcouldbegleanedfromthedatabase. X~XXXDescriptiveinformationfrom p selectedfieldswithinthedatabasewasextractedinordertoenhancetheusefulnessofthedatabase.#X~XX X~#ԀTheattacheddatabase, Ctrefine.mdb,isinAccess97andcontainsthetablesthat H arethemainrefinementstothedatabase.Thefirstisatablecalled CTSSLOFversion4.SSLOFisanacronymfor ShortenedShortListofFields,referringtothe shortlistoffieldscreatedbytheCombustionTurbineWorkGroup(CTWG)oftheIndustrialCombustionCoordinatedRulemaking(ICCR).TheEPAInventoryDatabasehasover100fields.Therefore,theCTWGestablisheda shortlistoffieldsintheEPAInventoryDatabasethatcontainthemostcriticalinformationforanalyzingthedatabasepopulation.SSLOFisanabbreviatedversionofthislist;itcontainsfieldsfromversion4oftheEPAInventoryDatabaseforStationaryCombustionTurbines(referredtoas primarysourcefields),aswellasadditionalfieldsthathavebeencreatedtoenhancetheusefulnessofthedatabase.
