D(#2 & &  4.1  StatusofProjects  4.1.1  PlasticParts b   Ellen_Ducey_,EPAs'&Ԁteamleaderfortheplasticpartssurfacecoatingsourcecategory,identifiedthefoursectorsthathavebeendevelopedforthiscategory:automotive,heavydutytruck,businessmachines,andmiscellaneous,listingsomeexamplesoftheindustriesandbusinessesthatwouldfallundereach.Asuggestionwasmadethattheaerospaceindustrybelistedunderthemiscellaneoussector,asvariousplasticparts(luggageracks,trays,etc.)maybecoatedforinstallationwithinaircraftandwouldnotbecoveredundertheaerospace_MACT_.Ms._Ducey_Ԁexplainedthattheidentificationoffacilitiesinthesesectorsisbeingconductedthroughcontactwithstateagenciesandtradeassociations,aswellassearchesofInternetsitesandEPAdatabases.Datacollectioniscurrentlybeingconductedthroughsitevisits,reviewsoftechnicalliterature,stateregulations,andTitleVpermitsandapplications,inadditiontoInternetsitesearches.Shealsostatedthatsitevisitsintheheavydutytruckcategoryhavebeencompleted,whilevisitstobusinessmachine,automotive,andmiscellaneousindustrieswillbeconductedinthefuture.  Ms._Ducey_ԀthenlistedthestatesinwhichaninitialTitleVapplicationcollectionhasbeenconducted.Aquestionaroseastohowthesestateswerepicked.JoanMcLeanoftheEasternResearchGroup,Inc.(ERG),explainedthatseveralwereidentifiedashavingalargenumberofcoatingindustriesbyperformingsearcheswithinEPAdatabasesusingSICcodesandsourcecategorycodes(SCC).OtherswerechosenduetotheirproximitytoNorthCarolinawhichwillfacilitatepermitretrievalandreview,aswellasfuturesitevisits.4.1.2  MiscellaneousMetals ! *   BruceMoore,EPAsteamleaderforthemiscellaneousmetalpartsandproductssurfacecoatingsourcecategory,explainedtheroleofsubgroupswithinthiscategoryanddescribedthefocusofeachoftheestablishedsubgroups.Sixissuesubgroupswereformedduringthefirststakeholdersmeeting:ScopeandDefinition,SourceSize,DataCollection,AlternateQuestionnaire,Flexibility,andConsistency.Followingtheinitialconferencecallmeetings,reorganizationoftheseissuesubgroupsleftfour:Scope,CoatingsTechnology,SourceSize,andDataCollection.Theissuesubgroupsforflexibilityandconsistencyweredroppedsincethese h+&8 _areissuesthatwillbegivenconsiderationthroughouttheprocess.Twoothersubgroups,RegulatoryandSmallBusiness,aretoconveneatalaterdate.  ConcernwasraisedbyindustryparticipantsabouttheQ$Q$FlexibilityQ$Q$subgrouphavingbeeneliminated.ThisisanimportantQ$Q$issueQ$Q$becausetherearemanyvaryingtechnologiescurrentlyusedinthecoatingsindustry,asQ$Q$welladditionaltechnologiesQ$Q$thatmaybedevelopedinthefuture.ItwasagreedthattheneedtoallowforinnovativeQ$Q$technologiesQ$Q$mustbecontinuallyrecognizedQ$Q$intheregulatoryprocess.Q$Q$Q$Q$Mr.Q$Q$MoorenotedQ$Q$that,althoughQ$Q$theQ$Q$FlexibilityQ$Q$andQ$Q$ConsistencyQ$Q$subgroupshavebeeneliminated,thesetopicswillbeQ$Q$continuouslyaddressedthroughouttheMACTdevelopmentprocessduetotheirimportance.XVXX XVInaddition,oneoftheparticipantsinthe   discussionoftheseissuesduringtheconferencecallsvolunteeredtodraftalistof guidingprinciplestoconsiderfortheentireproject.# XVXXXV#Mr.Moorealsoaddedthattechnologicalflexibility   anddifferencesbetweencoatinglinesaretopicswhichshouldbecoveredbytheCoatingsTechnologysubgroup.
