Abstract:
This document serves as the final action to approve the development of a more flexible policy with respect to the granting of SIP credits for a
variety of voluntary mobile source emission reduction programs. The Office of Transportation and Air Quality has worked with staff from the
Regional Air Offices, the Office of General Counsel, and the Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards to develop this policy approach to voluntary efforts to reduce emissions. The
new approach allows these efforts to be incorporated into the SIP and receive emission reduction credit toward progress, attainment, and maintenance of the national ambient air quality
standards.
