1996 Emission Inventory

The 1996 National Toxics Inventory and the 1996 Emission Inventory for criteria pollutants data and documentation are no longer available.
In 2003, EPA released the final version of the 1999 National Emissions Inventory (NEI) for Criteria and Hazardous Air Pollutants. In early 2006, EPA released the 2002 NEI. These are the most recent inventories available. We recommend the use of the most current NEI because better quality data were submitted to EPA and new methodologies have been used.
Summary files have been generated from the EPA's national emissions inventory (NEI) database for criteria air pollutants for the years 1990 and 1996 through 2001.
