| Abstract: The purpose of this memorandum is to inform state and local air pollution control agencies and tribes about EPA's schedule for designating areas for the 8-hour ozone standard. The guidance memo also outlines the impact of the designation schedule on areas that are developing early action compacts. This memo does not replace earlier guidance on the designation process and on determining nonattainment area boundaries based on case-by-case application of air quality-related factors and presumptions. |
