| Abstract: EPA proposes to change the uniform air quality index, the Pollutant Standards Index (PSI), used by States for air quality reporting. The PSI forms the basis for three key components of outreach activities which include: 1) the Ozone Map; 2) cautionary statements about ozone; and, 3) a booklet that provides information on the health effects of ozone. In 1998, working through a contractor, EPA commissioned eight focus groups to evaluate how effectively these tools communicate ozone-related information. This report details the results of these focus groups. |
