| Abstract: On Dec. 20, 2002, EPA issued a notice changing the comment period for three air toxics standards that were proposed November 26, 2002. Public comments on the proposed standards for combustion turbines, metal can surface coating and primary magnesium refining will now be due 30 days after the proposed rules are published in the Federal Register. EPA is making the change in order to meet its deadlines for issuing final air toxics standards, and to help states and industry avoid a requirement that air toxic control requirements be set on a facility-by-facility basis.
